History and Origins

The breed was developed in the United States from Asian leopard cat and domestic cat crosses, popularized by breeder Jean Mill in the 1970s and 1980s. TICA accepted it in 1986, and today's pet Bengal cats are bred Bengal to Bengal for many generations. Despite that domestic temperament, their hybrid origin is why some cities restrict them.

Personality

Bengals are energetic, vocal and clever, and they need serious daily play. Many fetch, walk on a harness and love water. They suit active households with room to climb, which is worth weighing even where they are legal.

Nutrition and Feeding
